In Timothy Snyder’s The American Abyss (The New York Times), he shows the deep division in the Republican Party:

Republicans who don’t want Trump can simply tell the truth.
To tell Trump’s big election lie is to be owned by it.
For 2024, Republican breakers need an angry, violent, nationwide minority.
Going forward, Republicans will be divided between the gamers and breakers which might better serve democracy.
